With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Betty Ann McClendon, a beloved sister, aunt, and friend, who passed away on June 9, 2026. Born on October 25, 1961, in Sulphur, Louisiana, Betty lived a life filled with laughter, compassion, and unwavering authenticity.

Betty was the cherished daughter of the late Willie and Goldie O'Quain, who instilled in her a deep love of family and community. She was preceded in death by her brother, Willie "Pee Wee" O'Quain Jr., and her brother-in-law, Andrew "Andy" Monceaux Jr.

She leaves behind her loving sister, Darlene Monceaux; her sister-in-law, Tammy O'Quain; and her cherished nieces: Elizabeth, Nikka, Emily, Kattie, Andria, Hallie (who was also Betty Ann’s godchild); and nephews: Terry, Andrew, Timothy, Chance, and Dillion. Betty is also survived by numerous great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews, and close friends, all of whom will carry her memory forward with love.

Early in her career, Betty worked in the electrical construction industry, where she developed a strong work ethic and practical skills. She later found her true calling in customer service, where her outgoing personality, quick wit, and genuine kindness made a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Betty's passion for music and love for concerts was unmatched. She was an expert concertgoer, always ready to enjoy a good jam session and make lasting memories with her friends and family. Her zest for life and her ability to find joy in the little things made her a beloved companion to many.

Betty Ann was unapologetically herself—strong-willed, outspoken, and fiercely independent. Beneath her bold spirit was an incredibly compassionate heart. She had a special love for animals and never hesitated to care for creatures great and small. Her honesty, loyalty, humor, and generous spirit made her a cherished friend to all who knew her. Betty had a remarkable gift for connecting with people from all walks of life, and she never missed an opportunity to share a laugh.

A celebration of Betty Ann's life will be held from 10am to noon, with service starting at noon, on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Christian Life Church, 423 Live Oak Street, Sulphur, Louisiana. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance, share stories, and celebrate the beautiful life she lived.

Flowers may be delivered directly to the church at 9am Saturday.

Though Betty's passing leaves an immeasurable void, her legacy of spicy kindness, laughter, resilience, and unconditional love will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
