Danya Kay Hendricks, born December 8, 1965, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, passed away on September 3, 2025
Danya was the cherished daughter of Roy James and Barbara Kate Arabie. A proud graduate of LaGrange High School, Class of 1983, she carried her Gator spirit with her throughout her life. In her younger years, Danya loved nothing more than attending concerts, filling her days with music and joy.
She was a true fan at heart-cheering passionately for her beloved LSU Tigers and the New Orleans Saints every season. Whether it was a Saturday in Death Valley or a Sunday in the Dome, Danya's energy and loyalty to her teams were unwavering.
More than anything, Danya was devoted to her family. She found her greatest purpose and pride in being a homemaker, raising her two children with love, care, and endless encouragement. When her grandchildren came along, her heart grew even fuller. "Mimi" treasured every laugh, hug, and memory she shared with them.
Danya lived and loved life to the fullest-her joy was contagious, her laughter unforgettable, and her love everlasting. She will be remembered as a woman who celebrated every moment, poured love into everyone around her, and created a legacy of family, faith, and happiness that will live on for generations.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy James and Barbara Kate Arabie; and two brothers, Keith Wayne Arabie and Darin James Arabie.
Those left to cherish her memory; son, Corey Lane Hendricks (Christine); daughter, Brittany Kate Hendricks (Jonas Young); grandchildren, Jaiclyn Hendricks, Lyddia Hendricks, Kinsley Hendricks, Bryson Morgan and Brantley Young; brothers, Craig Arabie (Jackie), Eric Arabie (Charla), Dean Arabie (Jessica), Donald Arabie (Dani), Shannon Arabie (Ashley) and Troy Wainwright (Avonlea); and the father of her children, Darrell Hendricks.
