Darrell Dean Henagan 72, of LC passed away Thursday, Feb 5, 2026 surrounded by friends and family at his home following an extended illness. He will be greatly missed by so many who knew and loved him.
Darrell was born on March 19, 1953 in DeQuincy. He was a graduate of DeQuincy High School and McNeese State University where he attained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. He retired from Turner Industries in Sulphur where he worked in the Training and Development Department. He was well respected for his wealth of knowledge, his humble spirit and his willingness to help. He welcomed leadership training for his work but also working with his wife teaching leadership classes.
Darrell enjoyed traveling, road trips and beach vacations were his favorites. He loved spending time with family and friends, watching Star Wars and most recently The Rookie and 911 with Alyx. His favorite pastime was spending time with his wife and his favorite downtime was drinking afternoon coffee with her.
Darrell came to know Jesus as his savior and anyone who knew have no question about his faith. He also enjoyed teaching Sunday school and small groups at church. He always had a love for Southern Gospel music and expressed it as a member of various quartets.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 26 years, Debbie Henagan; children, Alyx Mullins (Issac), Kashia Spears (Kevin), Brandon Henagan (Courtney) and Christin Dowers (Jake); four grandchildren; one great-grandchild and brother, Jimmy Henagan (Jerilynn).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert "Bobby" Henagan and Nettie Lee Trouble Henagan and his grandparents, Herman and Bessie Henagan.
To know Darrell was to love him. He never met a stranger and was always kind and helpful to whomever had a need.
The family would like to extend a huge thank you to Heart of Hospice for the dedication, love and support extended to their family.

A memorial service of remembrance will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at Houston River Baptist Church. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at the church.
