Don Harry Strub Jr.

Don Harry Strub Jr., 89 of Westlake, LA passed away Thursday, April 3, 2025 in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his family.

He was born June 22, 1935 in Crowley, LA to the late Judith and Don H. Strub Sr..

He was a hard working family man, devoted to his faith and providing for his family. He and Peggy met when I-10 was being constructed through Welsh.

They exchanged vows on June 12, 1963, making Westlake their home. He worked many years within the refineries as a purchasing agent. He was a devout Catholic, ensuring his children, grand children and great grandchildren knew the word of Jesus and how to live life and give it to the Lord.

Throughout the years, he also enjoyed helping run his wife's family farm. No matter the long hours he worked or the time he devoted to his family, his yard remained immaculate. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus Council #5755, serving as a Grand Knight

He is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Peggy Robinson Strub; three children, Crystal Graham, Tom Strub, and Jennifer S. Bond and husband Steve; eight grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren.

A Memorial Mass led by Father Joseph Jenesh and Deacon Fred Reed will be celebrated, Wednesday, April 9th, 2025 at St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Westlake, LA beginning at 10am.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Brigton Bridge Hospice for the wonderful care they gave Don during his tranistion. Additionally want to thank Lane and Jesse for always being there to help take care of Peggy and Don, her sister, Bethel Robinson, along with their children Tom and Jenny,
