Sulphur

“Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.”  Corinthians 15:42-44

Judith Kay Woods Duhon, 75, of Sulphur, LA passed away peacefully surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. Judy adored her family. Her genuine, unconditional love for her children and grandchildren granted her the strength to fight with grace and dignity throughout her journey.

She was a devoted Christian whose life reflected kindness, strength, and an unwavering love for God, as well as for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She found joy in the sunshine of a bright, beautiful day, especially while birdwatching, tending to her yard, and, most of all, floating in the pool. She also enjoyed dressing in full LSU attire to cheer on the Tigers and treasured traveling on family vacations. Her greatest joy was cheering on her grandchildren at their events.

She will forever be remembered for her beautiful smile, gentle spirit, and kind heart that brought warmth, love, and acceptance to every room she entered. She is greatly missed.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Kimberly Link Turner (Chris), Shawn Link, Rodney Link, Jr. and Thomas Andrew Duhon; grandchildren, Dylan Hamolka (Mary), Blayke LaBove (Bryce), Taylor Copper, Gage Link, Athena Duhon, Margaret Jeffers (Noah), Mary Elliott Turner, and Hayes Turner; great-grandchildren, Parker, Hollyn, and Palmer. She also leaves her siblings, Wayne Woods (Deborah), Patty Woods, Darrell Woods (Becky), Randy Woods, and Byron Woods (Rhonda).

She was preceded in death by her mother, Nellie M. Woods and father, Irvin M. Woods.

Judy’s children wish to express heartfelt thanks to Michelle Raborn, Miriam Sensat, and Debbie Link who cared for her deeply and brought great comfort to them in her last days.

In respect of Judy’s wishes, her family will gather privately for a Celebration honoring her life.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Ethel Precht Breast Cancer Program.
