Larry Gene Landry

Larry Gene Landry, 69, of Lake Charles passed away Friday, March 27, 2026 in a local hospital.

Larry suffered from mental challenges his whole life which had him rely on others to survive but he was very capable at a lot. His younger years he was a great drummer and guitarist...his later years he perfected his favorite thing...slow smoking chicken leg quarters. He loved drinking coffee and smoking his pipe and would do anything anyone asked him to do. He also loved music. He was an innocent soul and so eager to please. He was my first cousin and we had lived together in high school at my mom's...never thought he would spend his final years living with me and my wife, Dee.

He is preceded in death by his Mother, Sadie, Father, Bill and his Brother, Winnie "Skipper" Landry.

He leaves his cousin and caretaker of nearly twenty years Mark and Dee Merrifield.

Private services will be held at a later date.
