In Loving Memory of Aunt Linda Dillard ❤️ 

Aunt Linda was a woman who loved deeply, fiercely, and unconditionally. She loved her family with her whole heart, especially the Carlock girls, and she cherished spending time visiting with her friends and the people she loved. She also had a special place in her heart for her cats and dogs, who were truly part of her family. 🐾❤️ 

Some of my sweetest memories of Aunt Linda are from Christmas time, when our family would gather together. She loved watching each of us open our presents. Her attention was completely on you as you opened your gift, and she made the moment feel so special. I could have given her the simplest gift in the world, but she always made me feel like I had given her the most precious and perfect gift imaginable. That was just who she was—she made you feel loved and appreciated. 

Growing up, Aunt Linda always had a fresh, homemade cookie waiting for us in the cookie jar, a big hug, and a home filled with love. We always knew that we had a place to lay our heads and food in our bellies. She welcomed us with open arms and loved us even on our hardest days. Her love was steady, unconditional, and always there when we needed her. ❤️ We spent so many days in the kitchen together—cooking a good meal, baking cookies, peeling shrimp, washing dishes, laughing until our sides hurt, and reminiscing about the good times and even the hard times. She had a way of turning ordinary moments into memories that we would carry with us forever.

 Aunt Linda was also always willing to give us advice and share what she had learned from life. She wanted us to succeed and tried to guide us in the right direction. She taught us lessons, sometimes with her words and sometimes simply by the way she lived her life. And when times got hard, she showed up. She stepped in when she didn’t have to. She helped when she could have easily walked away. She was there for us, and that is something I will never forget.

 I love this picture of Aunt Linda and Mom because it reminds me of the love and connection they shared and of all the family memories that came before us. Looking at it brings back so many moments that I wish I could step back into just one more time. Aunt Linda, thank you for every hug, every cookie, every meal, every piece of advice, every laugh, every Christmas, and every time you showed up for us. Thank you for loving us through the good days and the difficult ones. Your love became part of who we are, and those memories will stay with us forever. We will miss you more than words can ever say, but we will carry your love with us always. ❤️🫂🙏
