Peggy Sue Strub

Peggy Sue Robinson Strub, 82, of Westlake, LA passed away Friday, October 10, 2025 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Strub was born May 29, 1943 in Pine Island, LA to Clarence and Edna LeJeune Robinson. She worked many days with her father in the fields farming rice, soybeans and cotton. She was a graduate of Pine Island High School. She met her husband of nearly 62 years when working in a diner and he was working on the construction of I-10 through Welsh. They married June 12, 1963 and established their home in Westlake.

Mrs. Strub enjoyed flower gardening with a green thumb that was sure to make anything grow. She also loved cooking, especially for gathering of family and friends. She always had an open door and a welcoming heart. She will be remembered for her love and devotion to her family, her community and her church. A lady of grace and faith, she was a devout Catholic, a member of St. John Boscoe Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters.

She leaves to cherish her memory, three children, Crystal Graham of Douglas, GA, Thomas Strub of Moss Bluff and Jennifer Bond (Steve) of Lake Charles; eight grandchildren, Danniell Slocumb (Ty), Dane Graham (Andrea), Eden Smith (Brett), Jesse Strub (Melissa), Lane Bond (Sydney), Emily Bond, Kristina Fontenot (Todd) and Ashley Latty; thirteen great grandchildren with one on the way and two sisters, Bethel Robinson and Barbara Trahan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters.

Mrs. Strub’s family wishes to recognize with immeasurable gratitude her grandson, Lane and his wife Sydney for helping Tom, Jenny and Crystal by standing by her side and taking such great care her along with her grandson, Jesse and her sister, Bethel.

They also express heartfelt gratitude to Brighton Bridge Hospice for their excellence in kindness and care during their mother’s transition.

A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, October 17, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. John Boscoe Catholic Church in Westlake. Reverend Rojo A. Koonathan will officiate. Visitation Friday will begin at 10:00 AM with a Rosary service at 10:30 AM in the church.
