A man of unwavering kindness, Timothy had a heart for helping others and an abiding love for animals. Known for saying "rescues were his favorite breed," he was often found offering aid to those in need --- human and animals alike. He left behind seven rescues, among which was his number one rescue, Bella. His generous spirit extended to the kitchen, where he found great joy in cooking for loved ones. His gumbo and chicken curry were enjoyed by family and friends. He was passionately and unashamedly a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Timothy was a faithful Christian man, who not only spoke of his beliefs but did his best to live them. While caring for his mother in her later years, he also hosted a spiritual reflection at her home for family and friends. His quiet strength, selflessness, and humility made a lasting impression on all who knew him. As his final act of kindness, Timothy chose to give the gift of life through organ donation, continuing his legacy of compassion and service even in passing. He is deeply mourned and will be forever cherished by his family friends, and all whose lives he touched with his warmth, wisdom, and unwavering generosity.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Gayle Nash Richard, his parents, USAF TSG. Lloyd J. Richard, Sr. and Geraldine ("Gerri") Thompson Richard (Guidry), his stepfather Clomare J. (C.J.) Guidry, Jr., and his brother Lawrence Paul Richard.
He is survived by his siblings: Deborah Kibodeaux, Edgerly, La., Joyce Simoneaux, Lake Charles, La., Patricia Husband, Liberty, Tx, and Lloyd J. ("Skipper") Richard, Jr., Sulphur, La. He is also survived by his stepsiblings: Patricia Landry, Baytown, Tx., Robert Guidry, Vinton, La. and Linda LaBove, Vinton, La. He leaves behind his cherished stepdaughters and step-grandchildren: Theresa Hale, Houston, Tx. and children, Simon and Caysom White; Tiffany Serna, Lufkin, Tx, and children, Sujit and Saj Thomas; Amy Serna and Morgan Serna, Lufkin, Tx.; and Ashley Stilson, Lufkin, TX and children, Lindsey and Walker Stilson; and numerous nieces and nephews, who treasured their uncle.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Timothy's name to a local animal rescue or veterans' organization.
In accordance with Timothy's wishes, no services will be held at this time. He will be laid to rest in Big Woods Cemetery next to his beloved Sandra.
