Vernell Monceaux, 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, born to

the late Thalsmar and Avella Monceaux on January 2, 1939, in Morse, Louisiana.

Vernell was a life-long resident of Lake Charles. Keeping a clean, organized house, doing

yard work and tending to her flowers brought her great joy. Vernell will be remembered for

her kind, caring, and friendly personality.

Left to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Lois Guillory (Blane) of Moss Bluff, La.,

Melissa Johnson (Shelton) of Spring, Tx., and Beverly Cormier of Lake Charles; Two

brothers, Ivy and Nolan Monceaux; Nine Grandchildren, Brandy Prince of Westlake, Kerry

Hazell (Robert), Christopher, Amy, Heather, Crystal, and Matthew Guillory all of Moss

Bluff, Ricky Monceaux of Lake Charles, Kenneth Johnson of Spring, TX; twelve Great-

Grandchildren; and two Great-Great Grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Vernell was preceded in death by three sisters, Arlene, Eula

Mae, and Rose; two brothers Ivan and Lejay; two grandchildren, Amanda Lynn Guillory, and

Blane Anthony Guillory Jr.

Cremation has been entrusted to Simple Traditions by Johnson Funeral Home. A private

gathering of immediate family will be held in remembrance of her and a celebration of the

life she gave them.
